A JUNIOR football club is teaming up with a village pub for a two-day beer festival fundraiser this week.

Bishopthorpe White Rose Junior Football Club and The Marcia Inn in Bishopthorpe are joining forces to hold the event at the pub on Friday, from 5 to 11pm and on Saturday, from noon to 11pm.

The event will raise funds for the club, which will put the money towards the cost of building a new clubhouse and pitches off Sim Balk Lane.

The festival will feature beer and cider, a hog roast, food from The York Pie Company and raffle prizes.

All money from the sales of the festival food, drink and raffle tickets will go towards the club’s fundraising goal of £80,000.

The two-day event will have casks from local and national breweries.

Entry to the beer festival is free and is open to all.
