POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash between a lorry and a car near York yesterday afternoon (November 12) to come forward.

North Yorkshire Police's York North Safer Neighbourhood Team said the collision involved a "long haulage vehicle" and a silver Ford Ka on the B1224, between the A1237 and Rufforth.

It happened at around 5.30pm.

Fire crews as well as police attended the scene of the crash.

North Yorkshire fire service said the occupants of the vehicles were out when crews arrived and no action was taken by firefighters.

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said the force will not be releasing any more information about the crash unless it decided to issue a full appeal.
