A REUNION for former Knavesmire Secondary Modern School pupils proved a big success, with people travelling from as far as Scotland and London to attend.
The 40th year reunion for the class of 78 - who attended between 1973 and 1978 - was held at St Clements Working Men’s Club, in South Bank, York.
Around 40 people turned out for the event.
Wendy Wootton (nee Cussons), who organised the reunion, said: "It was a very successful night with around 40 people attending, including three teachers. The others were all ex-78ers.
"We all enjoyed fabulous food, drinks, plenty of laughs and remembering absent friends."
Before the get-together, there had already been two reunions for the class of 78, one in 2002 and another in 2014, and some of the ex-pupils have got together every four months socially to keep in touch. Knavesmire Secondary Modern School closed in the 1980s.
