A LOCAL artist is opening up her studio to show people how she creates her linocut prints.

Michelle Hughes's work is inspired by nature and local landmarks and she frequently explores the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, the Wolds and the coast in search of inspiration.

She is having open days at her studio in Holgate on November 10 and December 1, from 10am-3pm, where she will share each step of the process involved in creating her limited edition prints.

Michelle said: "I love sharing my studio with people and showing the many stages in creating a linocut print.

"They're all hand printed, so each one is unique."

Each of her designs is hand carved into lino blocks and then hand printed using oil-based inks.

Framed prints will be on display and available to order, with mounted prints, workshop vouchers and Christmas cards on sale.
