A HGV crashed into the central reservation barrier on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire this morning (November 6).

It happened at around 5.40am near to junction 47 (Allerton Park).

Speed restrictions of 50mph that were in place in both directions between junctions 47 and 48 (Boroughbridge) following the collision have now been lifted.

Highways England said the HGV caused "severe damage" to the central reservation barrier.

The damage has been assessed and made safe for repair, Highways England added.

All lanes still remain open.

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said: "At around 5.40am this morning a HGV collided with the central reservation near to junction 47 on the A1. No injuries were reported."
