GIVEN China's massive expansion, it knows a thing or two about manufacturing construction machinery.

Now Britcom International, the East Yorkshire plant and truck sales company, has been targeted by the Chinese Hunan Sunward company.

Both organisations have signed an exclusive agreement which will see Britcom exclusively offer Sunward's mini-excavators for hire.

Britcom's purpose-built,14-acre premises, occupied last year to celebrate its 25th anniversary, was chosen as the exclusive outlet for the UK as part of Sunward's targeting of major dealers in the US and Europe.

Chris Unwin, director of Britcom International, said: "We put a great deal of time, energy and research into bringing the best in Chinese manufacturing to the UK for sale and we are equally delighted that it is now available for hire.

"The Sunward range has proved to be a successful and reliable product in the European market and by offering a hire fleet of new machines and a hire to buy' service we are passing this dependability to our customers."

It is hardly surprising that Britcom International has pitched to become the Large Business Of The Year in The Press Awards 2007. It has been a busy year for the £27.5 million turnover company, which employs 65 people at Market Weighton and a further 25 at its subsidiary in Kenya.

The Chinese deal follows hot on the heels of the launch of a major working partnership with Effer Truck Cranes of Italy, which Britcom International now exclusively sell, fit and service throughout the North of England.

In August, Britcom assumed the dealership for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire for a range of mini excavators and skid-steers manufactured by Austrian company, Neuson and it has been appointed North and East Yorkshire distributor for Dinaldson Filters.

Britcom offers a one stoip shop for all specialist vehicle engineering services relating to commercial vehicles such as chassis conversions, body building and specialist trailer manufacture.

When it comes to painting, detailing and finishing the firm is bound to outshine the rest. Its new facility in York Road houses two commercial vehicle and plant equipment spray booths, giving Britcom the ability to spray the longest 13.6 metre trailors and tractor units at the same time. And alongside is a state of the art shot blast booth.
