YORK Outer MP Julian Sturdy has visited a pub at Skelton to see first-hand how it is reducing its plastic waste by replacing plastic straws with a sustainable alternative.
He said that as a long-time campaigner against plastic waste, he was 'very encouraged' to see businesses such as The Hungry Horse taking clear steps to cut back usage of single-use plastic. He said owner Greene King was introducing compostable PLA straws made from corn starch across all its pubs.
