WINE reds, deep burgundies, plum purples, golden yellows and tarnished greens – the palette of autumn is rich, vibrant and proved irresistable to our Camera Club members.
The theme of October's competition was #autumn colours and we had a wealth of images submitted for consideration.
Congratulations to Linda Ullathorne for her mesmerising photograph of the autumn sun shining through a wood at Helmsley. As you can imagine, there were many images of trees and foliage this month, but Linda's stood out for the excellent composition and beautiful colours she has captured in the shot.
Our two runners up are Denise Millington for her simple, but striking image of a single autumn leave against a floor of blue pebbles and to Brian Hughes for his engaging shot of a robin on a branch of berries.
Highly commended this month are Gordon McElroy for his photograph of Shipton Lake; Paul Anthony White for an interesting montage of autumn foliage; Susan JB for her shot at the Homestead and Di Holt for the image of poppies at Selby Abbey.
Well done to our winners and thanks to all the Camera Club members for taking part.
Maxine Gordon
