DRIVERS were warned to expect delays tonight following a six-vehicle crash on the A64.
North Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a four vehicle crash on the A64, just before the A1079 slip at about 5.25pm. On arrival, police found six vehicles had been involved in the crash.
A spokesman said emergency services remained at the scene - which was initially believed to be on the eastbound carriageway, but later confirmed to be on the westbound carriageway - at 6.30pm.
Police said nobody had been injured in the crash, but tailbacks had been reported as far as Hopgrove Roundabout.
The spokesman said the road was partially blocked while the vehicles were being recovered, and urged drivers to avoid the area.
The road was eventually cleared and reopened at just after 7.30pm.
