IN reply to Geoff Robb (“Where were the 17 million marchers?”, Letters, October 23): it is interesting that the pro-Brexit demonstration in Harrogate attracted less than 1,200 Brexiters as compared to the 700,000 Remainers who marched in London on the same day!

Will Boris and Geoff deliver cash to NHS?

Shame on you Dr Julie Speedie for childishly inferring York’s very own Brexit expert Geoff Robb is a ‘Basketeer’ with his lackey Boris (Rebrand Brexiteers the ‘Basketeers’, Letters, October 24).

All along Geoff is the only person in the UK who actually knows what’s happening with Brexit and he would never stoop so low as to name-call half the nation.

I am willing to bet that, in readiness for us leaving Europe in 2.5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 years time, Geoff has organised his 17.4 million followers to help the treasury load £350 million each and every week on to Boris’s big red con trick (sorry bus) and deliver it to the NHS - with Boris actually driving.

We need to get on with leaving the EU

SO they now want to extend the ‘transition’ period. No! Non! Nein! Over two years ago the British electorate voted by a small majority (but it was definitely a majority) to leave the European Union, but we are still in it.

An extension will cost the UK millions in additional payments, if not billions, plus it will still be “governed” by European rules, thus preventing it from agreeing trade deals with the world in general.

Get on with it.
