OUR Facebook Camera Club group is making the most of the decent weather to send in entries for our monthy competition on the theme of autumn colours.
But amid the scenic shots of falling leaves and multi-coloured foliage, images of animals at large keep popping up too. So much so, we thought we would share some of these shots with readers.
The key to taking a successful animal picture has to be about capturing the character of the subject – and several of our Camera Club members have done just that with their submissions.
There’s no misinterpreting Richard Sparnenn’s headshot of a cow whose steely stare as good as says: “Don’t mess with me”.
Meanwhile, Sue Gabbatiss’s puffin looks a lot more friendly – dare we even say it looks as if it’s pouting into the camera?
The deer photographed by Nicola Chippendale at Studley Royal appears slightly startled by proceedings.
There’s still time to submit your entry for the autumn colours competition: the deadline is October 31.
