KATE Rusby At Christmas returns to York Barbican on December 18. Courtesy of Kate and the Barbican, What's On has two pairs of tickets to be won for the Barnsley folk singer's 7.30pm Christmas concert with her regular band and her quintet of "brass boys".

After 15 years of enchanting audiences up and down the land, Kate's Christmas tour –captured on her 2013 Live At Christmas concert DVD– has become as much a part of the festivities as Christmas pudding itself.

Warm and inviting, spicy and sparkly, Kate and company embody the sounds and joyous spirit of Christmas in their renditions of South Yorkshire (and Cornish) carols sung in pubs, complemented by Rusby's own winter compositions, spread over four albums, 2008's Sweet Bells, 2011's While Mortals Sleep, 2015's The Frost Is All Over and last year's Angels & Men.

Kate also will bring Christmas cheer to Harrogate Royal Hall on December 20. Tickets for York are on sale on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the Barbican box office; for Harrogate, 01423 502116 or harrogatetheatre.co.uk.
