HAVE you ever fancied yourself as a TV star?

If you would like to get your face on the small screen, a national casting company has put out a call for paid extras.

Key Casting is looking for York residents to work as background artistes on an upcoming period TV drama, Catherine the Great, which will rehearse and shoot over several months at various locations around the country, including York.

The programme will look at the reign of the infamous Russian Empress and is set to feature Hollywood stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult.

Open auditions will take place this Friday (October 26) at the Riverside Suite, Park Inn, by Radisson Hotel on North Street, between 2-8pm.

People of all ages, shapes, sizes and ethnicities are required, but performers must be over 16 with legal rights to work in the UK.

Extras can expect to earn between £100 and £150 per day.

Anyone who auditions should wear either grey or black, but no white, and bring ID, such as a passport or birth certificate with NI documentation. Create a profile before auditioning at uk.wegotpop.com/apply-quick
