WHERE were the 17 million marchers on Saturday, asks Geoff Robb (Letters, October 23).
Some people had to work, some had to look after children, some were too ill to travel and others just couldn’t afford the fare.
Here’s an idea. Why not set up polling booths across the country so everyone has a chance to endorse Mrs May’s Brexit deal? Or to demand that we stop all this nonsense, stay in the EU and take back control? Now we know what chaos we’re getting into, it’s time to confirm whether it’s what we want.

Rebrand Brexiteers as the ‘Basketeers’
Christian Vassie (Beware Brexit’s ‘flimflam pedlars’, Thursday, September 6) says it’s time we abandoned the word “Brexiteer”, a word which “aggrandises Boris by suggesting courage and chivalry and selflessness where there is none”. But what to replace it with? I can’t help thinking a more appropriate term might be “Basketeer”, as in “basket case”.
