THIEVES allegedly stole nearly 5,000 litres of diesel, worth almost £3,000, from a farm near Tadcaster last week.
The theft happened between 7pm on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday at a farm in Catterton.
North Yorkshire Police said 4,500 litres were stolen from a diesel tank, and 300 litres were taken from two tractors parked nearby.
A witness heard a noise at 2am on Thursday but did not see anything, the force added.
