TWO police officers who wrestled a violent, knife-wielding man to the ground in a 'dramatic and bloody domestic incident' in Tadcaster have won a top award,
PCs Craig Davies and Richard O’Connell have received the 2018 Public Choice Award, part of North Yorkshire Police’s Annual Awards, which recognise officers, staff and volunteers who have shown particular courage, inspiration or compassion.
Other winners included detention officer Ian Ventress, for his caring approach to the welfare of York custody detainees, DS Tracey Williams, for her work on children’s safeguarding and Kim Wray, for transforming York Police Cadets.
