POLICE are continuing to appeal for information after a woman was attacked while walking her dog in York.

As previously reported North Yorkshire Police said the woman was walking close to the shops in New Earswick at about 8.10am on Thursday when she was assaulted and an appeal for information was issued.

Speaking this morning, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We've had a good response to our appeal for information via the North Yorkshire Community Messaging system.

"Reassurance patrols have been conducted in the area, and the investigation is ongoing."

The attacker was described as an Arabic man in his mid 20s, around 5ft 6in tall, with dark scruffy hair, a neat well-kept beard, white trainers, dark trousers and a blue puffer jacket with a small white circle logo on the left chest area.
