Peter Rickaby wonders why the BBC did not broadcast the latest royal wedding (Letters, October 15).
Not everyone is a keen and ardent royal fan, especially for a minor royal.
The BBC, with ever-constricting budgets, maybe thought that it was more important to keep cash flowing into the fund for sending reporters all over the world.
Of course those of us in York could ask the question on how many occasions in her life has she visited this city, and then usually only for a few hours?
My final comment has nothing to do with the reason for non-broadcast, but has to be made anyway.
How many children could have been sent to school on that day with a decent breakfast paid for by the taxpayers’ contribution to the security arrangements?
Fear not Peter, I am sure the BBC will make up for this lack of air time due to the latest news from Kensington Palace.
