A NORTH Yorkshire knit-and-natter group is planning a very special act of remembrance to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.
The newly-formed group, which meets weekly in The Huntsman, in Drax, near Selby, is knitting enough red poppies to make a waterfall display outside the Church of St Peter and St Paul in the village.
Other commemorations planned for the village include a ride-by of horses, with purple poppies to commemorate the animals used in the conflict, and a talk about the Great War.
