CITY Screen, York, will be showing the Freddie Mercury and Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, from Wednesday, October 24.

Courtesy of film distributors Twentieth Century Fox and City Screen, What's On has a pack of prizes to be won by one competition entrant.

Directed by the aptly named Bryan Singer, Bohemian Rhapsody is a "foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury".

Played by Rami Malek, Mercury defies stereotypes and shatters convention as the 134-minute film traces the meteoric rise of the operatic rock band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, but in an unexpected turn, Mercury, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career.

"Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. Despite being diagnosed with AIDS, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day," says the synopsis.

Competition question: Which song gave Queen their first Top Ten entry in 1974?
