A CITY accountancy firm has entered an all-women team for one of the toughest cycling challenges in the UK.

Newport-based Kilsby Williams’ Diane Nettleton, Alison Hazledine, Dee Pattemore and Olivia Dyer have set themselves the gruelling challenge of completing the Cyclone 24, the only 24-hour velodrome challenge in the country.

The four will also be joined by Emma Jenkins from EJ Catering and Sarah Gatley.

Diane Nettleton said: “At the moment we’re training regularly and are gearing ourselves up for the mental and physical challenges that will come our way on the 21st of October.

“Over the last weeks, with the support of Zoe Westerman, director of Cyclone 24, we have gone from strength-to-strength. It’s exciting to realise we are no longer novices and can ride at significant speed. We’ve really enjoyed the thrill during the corporate track day, and I’m sure this will be even better on the day.”

The members of the Kilsby Williams team are no strangers to physical challenges. Olivia used to be one of the country’s top sprinters, Dee is a regular hockey player and Alison has scaled Mount Kilimanjaro.

The event takes place on 21 October at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales in Newport.
