LOCAL conference management company, York Conferences, has appointed a new conference and events manager.
Sian Fraser will now oversee the conferences team and conference venues at the University of York.
She has already been working at the university for 12 years, with 6 years' experience in the conferencing and events market, with other responsibilities including customer service, sales, marketing, design and print.
Sian said: "There is a fantastic opportunity to grown this organisation and promote the venues available at the University of York.
"The diversity of venues in terms of size, setting and architecture is something that other venues really struggle to match and York is fantastic in terms of its transport links, both within the UK and internationally."
Director of commercial services, Jon Greenwood, said: "I am extremely happy to appoint Sian. Having been with us for 12 years, she has the knowledge and leadership to lead the York Conferences team.
"In York particularly, the competition for conference venues is high, but I am convinced that we have both the venues and dedicated members of staff to be considered one of the best options in the North of England."
