A MICROWAVE caught fire in a flat in Ryedale.
Two fire crews were called to the first floor flat in Malton at 6.30pm on Monday.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the crews used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire and ventilate the property. It added that smoke alarms were fitted, which activated and alerted the occupant.
