A driver had a lucky escape after a stray piece of debris from a crash on the opposite side of the road smashed into their car.
A piece of metal was flung into the air following a crash on the M40 London-bound between junction 4 (Handy Cross) and junction 4 (Loudwater) on Saturday morning.
It punctured the windscreen of a BMW that was passing the crash on the northbound carriageway.
Fortunately, the BMW driver was not hurt, despite the damage done to the car.
Thames Valley Police's roads policing team said on social media that the driver was "saved" by the car's dashboard, which took the brunt of the force.
