THE CO-OWNER of a York gift business for cat lovers is planning to run in tomorrow’s Yorkshire Marathon dressed as a cat.
Peter Hanson, who runs The Cat Gallery in Low Petergate with his wife Alison, said yesterday he would don a ‘minimalist’ cat costume if £2,000 was pledged.
“I wonder how many York businesses could send one newsletter publicising this and have £1,500 pledged within 36 hours? I’m up to £1,667 so I suspect I’ll be donning the cat gear on Sunday,” he said, adding that he was raising money for the charities Cat Chat and International Cat Care.
