A NORTH Yorkshire law firm has raised funds for three charities through a variety of activities over the past year.

As part of their ‘Community Focus’ Value during the last 12 months, Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors has raised around £1840, which has been split between York Mind, The Wildlife Orphanage and Encephalitis Society.

Duncan Morter, managing director of the firm, which has branches in York, Selby, Malton, and Pickering, said: “As a firm, we agree one charity per office for 12 months to focus our fundraising efforts on. Our total funds raised this time have been achieved through many fantastic bake sales, raffles, sports themed events such as cycling stages of the Tour de France on exercise bikes at our offices and playing games such as guessing the number of football chocolates in a jar when the World Cup was on.

“Well done to all the staff and people who have supported our fundraising activities, we could not do it without you. Supporting charity is a great way for us to get involved in our community and give something back. We value the opportunity to be able to support local as well as national initiatives.”

He said the four charities the firm will be raising funds and awareness for over the next year are Smiley Riley, Scarborough Whitby Ryedale MIND, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Young Minds.
