POLICE arrested a man wanted on warrant following a public appeal.
Barry Smith was arrested on Thursday in Clifton, more than a week after police appealed for help locating him.
Smith, 36, of Water Lane, York, was charged with assault by beating, assault by actual bodily harm, two counts of breaching a non-molestation order, criminal damage, making threats with an offensive weapon - a piece of wood - in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He appeared before York and Selby Magistrates' Court on Friday charged with the seven offences, and was released on conditional bail to appear before York Crown Court in November.
