THE telephone service to a York GP practice is working again after a fault at a local telephone exchange was fixed.

A spokesman for Unity Health said patients struggled to get through to its surgeries earlier this week because of phone problems which were not its fault.

He said the problem apparently related to a broadband upgrade and it now seemed all was 'back up and running,' with engineers monitoring the situation to ensure it did not happen again.

Telephone problems at the surgery, causing huge difficulties for patients, were revealed by The Press earlier this year but were later fixed.
