TEMPERATURES soared to 23C today in the York area - but people should make the most of it, as strong winds and rain are on the way for Friday and Saturday.
The maximum was recorded at RAF Linton on Ouse at 4pm amid wall-to-wall sunshine, with just a gentle breeze, in a reminder of the glorious summer and the final chance of 2018 to have a sunbathe.
There could be showers tonight but more sunshine tomorrow before thickening cloud later, heralding a stormy day on Friday, when windy gusts of 40-45 mph are expected as well as rain.
More wet and very windy weather is expected on Saturday, but with temperatures still as high as 21C.
Sunday will be sunnier and drier, but with some showers and it will be much cooler, with temperatures of only 13C.
