PLANS have been submitted to create a holiday let in Rowntree Park.
City of York Council plans to develop the two floors above the Rowntree Park Reading Cafe - which have been empty since last summer - and create a three-bed holiday let to bring in money for the park.
Work is planned to start in January, and the apartment could be ready by next summer, but the council said the Reading Cafe would have to close between January and March as part of the refit.
Cllr Nigel Ayre said: "If approved, these exciting proposals will see the creation of a holiday home in a truly unique setting, providing the authority with long term investment potential to support the future of Rowntree Park.
"It’s a great example of the council making the most of its assets to support facilities for residents across the city."
