A power cut has hit 1,100 homes in Ryedale
ABOUT 1,100 homes and businesses in Ryedale suffered a power cut earlier today.
Northern Powergrid said the cut was reported in the YO1,YO30,YO32 and YO62 postcode areas, thought to be the Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside areas, at 10.53am.
It said the cut was caused by an unexpected problem with cables or equipment serving the area and it had restored power to some customers and was working to restore it for the rest by early afternoon.
