YORK pet supplies retailer Pets at Home is holding an autism hour to make shopping more inclusive.
Its stores, on Clifton Moor and Foss Islands, are teaming up with the National Autistic Society for the nationwide event during the first hour of trading on Saturday, October 13.
Launched last year, the Society’s campaign asks shops and businesses to take simple steps that will lead to a more autism-friendly world.
During the hour, lights will be dimmed and music and till noise will be turned down so that sufferers find the experience less overwhelming.
