HARMONIA celebrate their tenth anniversary with a 7.30pm concert at St Peter’s Church, Norton, Malton, on October 13, when the all-female choir will be joined by York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir.

Harmonia have raised money for several national causes through the years, as well as supporting many churches and charities, including Ryedale Special Families and Saint Catherine’s Hospice.

Founder and musical director Alison Davis has developed Harmonia into an accomplished choir with 60 members, who sing a mix of pop, gospel, jazz and show tunes. They have achieved considerable success at the Eskdale Festival’s National Choir Day in Whitby, winning the prestigious Recital Class for the past three years.

The long-established York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir will be performing at an Harmonia concert for the third time. Their 2018 diary has been a busy one, beginning with the Community Choir Festival in York in March that attracted a record 23 choirs, then a win in the Male Voice Class at the Eskdale Festival in April, although, as they said, "we could not get the better of Harmonia, our talented hosts, in other classes".

"We are pleased to be sharing a concert platform again with our friends in Harmonia, without doubt one of the finest choirs in Yorkshire, and we are looking forward to another enjoyable evening," say the York singers.

Tickets are available at £10 from Massers, in Wheelgate, Malton, or by ringing 01653 692468.
