HUGE ticket demand has led to an extra 10,000 seats going on sale for Rod Stewart’s date in York.

Rod Stewart Live In Concert will visit York Racecourse on Saturday, June 1 as part of a UK tour.

It is the first time he has played in the city and concert promoters Cuffe and Taylor say the demand for tickets has been so big they have decided to open the Grandstand at York Racecourse to release the extra 10,000 tickets.

A temporary concert arena will be built adjacent to the Clocktower Enclosure for the all-seated event. Tickets from www.ticketmaster.co.uk with hospitality packages from York Racecourse.

Cuffe and Taylor director Peter Tailor said: “The response to the York show on this tour has been immense. This is the first time Rod has played in the city and there is clearly a lot of excitement about it.

“The great thing about a racecourse is that it’s much easier to add seats according to the demand so I’m delighted we’re able to add an extra 10,000 seats to what is sure to be one incredible night for this city.

“We’ve worked on numerous shows and tours with Rod Stewart and are looking forward to being out on the road with him again next year as he always puts on the most magnificent live shows.”

This will be Rod’s first UK tour in three years following the success of two sold-out tours in 2016 – The UK Hits Stadium Tour and the arena tour “From Gasoline Alley to Another Country Hits.”
