POLICE are warning York residents not to fall for a scam in which fraudsters claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs are phoning people to demand money.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police says they have had about 25 reports today from people who have been contacted by fraudsters.
Victims have been told that if they do not pay up, a warrant for their arrest could be issued.
Police are urging people not to hand over any money as this is a scam.
