VISITORS to the 2018 York Food and Drink Festival can find out more about cocktails in a free masterclass this week.
Liam Bittles is a mixologist and deputy manager of the Slug and Lettuce in York, and hosted his first class for the Food and Drink Festival on Tuesday, September 25, with another planned for Thursday, September 27.
During the free event, Liam will answer any questions on cocktails from the audience and visitors will find out how to make two cocktails - one classic, and one of Liam’s own recipe.
He said: “I’ll talk them through a Zombie - a classic, rum-based cocktail, which is really refreshing - and one of my own creation, a rhubarb Old Fashioned, which is bourbon-based. I developed that because I wanted to do something related to Yorkshire, and the ‘Rhubarb Triangle’ is pure Yorkshire.” The free cocktail demonstration will be held in St Sampson’s Square at noon tomorrow.
