Matthew Robert Trevelyan, 39, of Spaunton near Kirkbymoorside, committed the offence during an anti-fracking demonstration on November 9 near Kirby Misperton.
He denied the charge but was convicted at a trial at York Magistrates' Court.
He was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £20 statutory surcharge.
