THOUSANDS of people have already visited the 2018 York Food and Drink Festival.

The annual event opened to less-than clement weather, but Saturday and Sunday saw the sun shine over the stalls and tents around the city.

Saturday also saw Fossgate taken over by the food festival, with a cake decorating workshop and Indian cookery demos in St Sampson’s Square.

There are hundreds of events taking place in and around Parliament Street and throughout the city for the festival, which runs until September 30. Many are free and do not need to be booked in advance.
