THE final stages of upgrades to a York roundabout will begin next week.
Resurfacing of the Wetherby Road roundabout - the first of seven to be upgraded in a £38m scheme to reduce congestion on the outer ring road - will take place between Monday and Friday.
Work will take place between 8pm and 5am, and Wetherby Road will be closed between Beckfield Lane and the A1237, with a diversion signposted. Three-way temporary traffic lights will also be in place.
Cllr Peter Dew, executive member for transport and planning, said: "We’ve planned the work to keep disruption to a minimum but due to the nature of the resurfacing work there is likely to be some noise disturbance to people living close by. I would like to reassure residents that we will reduce this as much as possible."
Further night-time resurfacing will take place in November, with more overnight closures of the roundabout.
