WEST Yorkshire-born Ed Sheeran will return to his home county to play Roundhay Park in Leeds on August 16 and 17 next summer.

General ticket sales will open at 10am on September 27 at ticketmaster.co.uk, seetickets.com, alttickets.com, gigantic.com, AXS.com, myticket.co.uk and lunatickets.co.uk.

Singer-songwriter Sheeran, 27, was born in Halifax and grew up in Framlingham, Suffolk, and so he will play homecoming open-air shows not only in Leeds but also at Chantry Park, Ipswich, on August 23 and 24.

These concerts will follow Sheeran;'s sold-out South Africa stadium tour in March and shows throughout May to August in France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Romania, Czech Republic, Latvia, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Hungary and Iceland.

He is on the North American leg of his global Divide stadium tour after performing to 1.1 million people this summer across the UK, including four nights at Wembley Stadium, when he achieved the biggest-ever ticket sales for an act playing solo on British stages.
