YORK should enjoy this morning's sunshine, as some very wet weather is on the way later today.
Forecasters say heavy and persistent rain will arrive by mid-afternoon in York and North Yorkshire, and continue through the evening and into the early hours of tomorrow.
Strong winds will also arrive this evening, with a potential for buildings to be damaged and trees to be felled.
More strong winds are expected on Sunday and into Monday.
