A LOCAL solicitor is gearing up to run the Yorkshire Marathon for charity.

Sarah Hubery, a newly appointed associate at York law firm Hethertons Solicitors, will run the marathon on Sunday, October 14 in aid of Tiny Tickers.

Each year, Hethertons sets itself a challenge to raise money for a single charity, and this year, staff suggested the foetal heart organisation, which aims to improve early detection of serious cardiac conditions in babies.

To show her support, Sarah, from York, will be taking on the challenge with her partner Ed Barker-Wyatt and will be cheered on by her colleagues.

Sarah said: "I am really looking forward to taking part and have high hopes of completing the full route.

"The support I have received so far has been superb."
