THE NCEM, in Walmgate, York, will celebrate the harvest festival season with film and food on September 25 at 7.30pm.

Arcadia (15), a new film that draws on 100 years of archive footage, will be accompanied by seasonal fare provided by The Press Kitchen, Walmgate.

Paul Wright’s 78-minute film shows the beauty and magic of the English countryside and also captures the darker side of rural life, which can be brutal, chaotic and bloody.

The film’s score is by University of York music graduate Will Gregory, better known as a member of Goldfrapp, and Adrian Uttley, co-founder of Bristol band Portishead.

The Press Kitchen will be providing locally-pressed cider and traditional English bread and cheese, and the screening will be preceded by a short set of live music.

Tickets cost £14, concessions £12, including the harvest supper, on 01904 658338 or at ncem.co.uk.
