MOCK The Week regular, 2018 Celebrity Masterchef semi-finalist and University of York graduate Zoe Lyons brings her Edinburgh Fringe hit show, Entry Level Human, to Selby on Friday.

"Zoe has been all over our TV screens, doing well on Celebrity Masterchef and appearing on Celebrity Pointless, and she's a firm favourite with BBC Radio 4 audiences, making frequent appearances on The News Quiz, Just A Minute and The Now Show, as well as presenting her own series, Passport Paddy, which begins this month." says Selby Town Council arts officer Chris Jones.

What will down-to-earth, energetic, observational comedian Zoe be discussing? "All this [list of credits] makes it sound like I have some sort of idea what I'm doing in life. But do I? Or am I the perfect example of an Entry Level Human?" she asks herself in her 8pm show.

Calling Lyons one of the sharpest comedians on the circuit, Jones says: "Zoe's profile has risen enormously in the last couple of years, and deservedly so, with regular Mock The Week appearances, a fine Masterchef run and a new stand-up show that's really making people take notice. That she could win an award voted for entirely by other comics tells you all you need to know about her quality and personality – comedians are not renowned for pulling their punches.

"Zoe received a bucket load of four and five-star reviews in Edinburgh Fringe and I’m thrilled to bits that one of the earliest dates on her huge national tour will be right here in Selby."

Tickets for Friday's 8pm gig cost £15 on 01757 708449 or at selbytownhall.co.uk or £17 on the door from 7.30pm.
