JUNIOR football players from local league clubs will get free admission at York City’s Junior League Day this Saturday.
The club is staging the event as part of a series of initiatives designed to strengthen bonds with the community and attract younger fans.
The offer is open to all junior teams in York & Ryedale Mitchell Sports Football League, City of York Girls Football League and YMSV York Minor League.
Players must attend the match wearing their club’s shirt and must be accompanied by a full-paying adult or adult season ticket holder.
The junior league team with the biggest number of players at the match will be invited back to Bootham Crescent to play on the pitch against a league side of the same age group.
All players must register with YCFC Foundation staff in the car park from 2pm before entering the ground, where they will receive raffle tickets for a prize draw at half time.
Those who opt to sit in the main stand, family stand or enclosure will also get the chance to meet City players, not on first team duty, from 2pm.
