THE eyes have it ... at least they do in four of our photos in today's selection of Press Camera Club offerings.

The eyes of Graham Breeze's fox are intent; those of Andy Gordon's Mandarin duck seemingly unaware. Karen Gilks' barn owl seems oddly relaxed sharing a parch bench with four hefty humans.

And as for Tony Cooper's insect...Well, we're not even quite sure what kind of insect it is. It has some yellow-and-black colouring, but the head is the wrong shape for a wasp. Possibly a grasshopper? Whatever, its eyes are spectacular: a compound creation of thousands of eyelets which must give it an extraordinary, multi-faceted view of the world.

There are also a couple of examples of great industrial photography in today's selection. Lynnette Cammidge's anchor in the docks at Caernarfon is all interesting angles: Steve Hillyer's study of bridges at Castlefield, Manchester, a perfect concrete-and-iron jungle, with layer rising upon layer.

Barney Sharratt's ice cream boat moored beside the Ouse is the perfect contrast - all colours, punchline and humour. Coney Street on Ouse? Much too cheerful for that, surely?
