FOLK legend Bridget St John plays the East Riding Theatre, Beverley, on Thursday at 7.30pm in the company of cellist Sarah Smout.

The Sixties and Seventies singer-songwriter played concerts with Nick Drake, John Martyn, Kevin Ayers and Michael Chapman before moving to America, having released her first three albums on the late John Peel's Dandelion label in the late 1960s. She and Peel's widow, Sheila Ravenscroft, have been friends since 1969.
