TELEVISION broadcaster Monty Halls will be recounting his adventures detailed in My Family and the Galapagos to a live audience in North Yorkshire.

The Royal Marine turned naturalist will be giving a talk on Friday, September 28 at Harrogate Convention Centre before opening a new lifestyle travel show, the Wildlife and Safari Travel Show, the following day.

Show organiser Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “Monty Halls is gaining a reputation as an expert in animal conservation and raising awareness of the environment.

"We were thrilled when he agreed to open what we hope will become the leading travel show in the UK for those who want to plan an adventure holiday which respects the planet.”

Halls took his family, including two young daughters, to live on the Galapagos for three months to get close to the islands’ wildlife.

He will kick off a weekend of events on September 29 and 30, featuring exhibitions from more than 60 travel companies, a virtual reality travel theatre and talks by TV personalities, wildlife photographers, conservationists, travel writers and travel guides.

Tickets for An Evening With Monty Halls are £25 and include a weekend pass to the show. For more details go to; wildlifesafarishow.com/an-evening-with-monty-halls
