ONE YORK primary school kicked off the new school year with a special launch assembly.
Local councillors, Danny Myers and Margaret Wells, local vicars and residents from Guardian Court sheltered housing were the guests of honour at Clifton Green primary for the celebration on Tuesday morning.
Head teacher Dave Brown said:
“As a school we value family and community and, wherever possible,
we like to involve the wider community in the life of the school.”
The theme of the assembly was celebrating new beginnings and looking forward and it focussed on the recent launch of the Parker solar probe.
The sunbound probe was launched in August and will be the first spacecraft to fly into the low solar corona.
Mr Brown said his message was to inspire the pupils to be outward looking and to have a positive impact.
