SCAMPSTON Hall hosted its first Yorkshire Traction Engine Rally over the weekend.

More than 30 full-sized steam engines and a number of fairground organs came from all over the UK to the hall on Saturday and Sunday.

There was also classic cars and vintage motorcycles, both on display and as part of a parade. For younger visitors, there were funfairs, quad bike rides and an inflatable castle.

Charlotte Kirton, marketing manager for the Estate, said: “It was very busy and there was a lot going on. There was something for everyone really, a good family event.”

She said the show was organised by event company Outdoor Shows. “They always put on a well-organised show and we’ll be working with them again next year,” she added.
